Norfolk’s Railways 1927 – 1966
Edited by Richard Adderson and Dennis Greeno
Norfolk’s Railways 1927 -1966 covers nearly 40 years of railway operation in the county. This is just a glimpse of a transport industry that arrived in Norfolk over 170 years ago and, as with the national system, it developed, thrived, declined and what remains thrives again.
The Book has over 170 photographs, many of which have never been published before, of locomotives, trains, stations and people. It aims to give a flavour of the industry’s place not just geographically but in society during five decades.
The stereotypical Norfolk will be seen in some of the photographs, but the book also illustrates the extent and variety of the services and facilities the railways created, as befits one of the largest counties in England.
