Lesley Urry and her two bridesmaids arrived on the top field in a 1925 Nash Motor car, walk down to the Whitwell East platform, where a 1945 steam engine called Victory and the SECR Brake van was waiting
After the formalities with the registrar on the brake van the train departed to the end of the line and then back to the main platform.
The ceremony took place in the main station building, and as soon as Lesley said the words i do the sun came out
Guests then left the station building and walked along the main platform, around the newly rebuilt signal box and had photographs taken on the patio and garden behind the sidings marquee
The newly married couple took the opportunity to have a ride on the steam engine together
Once the photographs had been taken outside the Bride & Groom with there guests entered the Sidings marquee for the wedding breakfast
Evening guests started to arrive around 18:00 with the event finishing at midnight
